I live in waihi, and am concerned about my state of health as i have got asthma and asperger’s syndrome, and am sensitive to all the dust and chemicals!

We are preparing for a busy summer raising awareness and money to continue doing the work that we do. We would love to see you at one of the events below. Thank you for supporting us to keep the Coromandel mining-free! Coromandel Watchdog AGM and Social Gathering. Please join us for a brief AGM followed by pot luck dinner and music! Date: Sunday November 20th, 2011. Time: 4.30pm for meeting followed by food and music. Venue: Kauaeranga Valley Hall, 437 Kauaeranga Valley Road, Thames. What: Annual General Meeting of Coromandel Watchdog of Hauraki, all offices open for nominations. Please bring a plate for a shared meal and instruments if you please! Newmont Waihi Gold are now going to continue mining in Waihi.
The Correnso and Martha Exploration Project proposals WILL CHANGE THE FUTURE OF WAIHI!

Do you know how these mining announcements will change the lives of your fellow New Zealanders?
Once they mine under residential Waihi is it then just a matter of time for the rest of Waihi and the wider Coromandel Peninsula?

Many Waihi residents are already adversely affected by current mining operations-without resolution.
Why does a foreign company still control all the outcomes?
How can the community drive a new model for going forward?
